A real-world asset is a physical "in real life" (IRL) asset of any kind. In the case of Artrade, it's a real physical work of art like a painting or a drawing.

Like the ones you can admire in museums or gallery all over the world, or that you can paint yourself and touch if you're an artist!

In the context of crypto and NFTs, a RWA is an "On chain" RWA. Which means that the real world asset find a purpose, a utility or a connection with the blockchain.

A RWA token is a fungible token on Solana (like a "normal" crypto) linked to a real artwork.

What is the link between the token and the artwork?

The practical links:

• The market capitalization of the token at the moment of the listing is equivalent to the artwork price at the moment of its sale.
• The token holders have a buy back option to the pro rata of the percentage of the token supply they own when the artwork is sold.

The symbolic link: the token is the certified artwork token. It's formally associated to its name, image and symbolic value by its legal owner: Artrade.
